Pool and Hot Tub Guidelines

Please read the relevant safety information before using our swimming pool or hot tubs. These guidelines help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Swimming Pool Information

Swimming Safety

All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied in the water by a responsible adult aged 18 or over. The adult must be a family member or guardian.

If the responsible adult is a spectator rather than a swimmer, they must remain at the poolside for the entire swimming session. If the adult leaves the pool area, the child must also leave.

Personal Hygiene

Please shower before entering the swimming pool to maintain good personal hygiene and show consideration for other pool users.

Entry to the swimming pool may be denied if this rule is not followed. Thank you for your cooperation.

Our Staff Are Here to Help

For your safety and enjoyment, please follow all instructions provided by pool and Causeway Coast Holiday Park staff.

Failure to follow these instructions may result in being asked to leave the swimming pool complex immediately.

Safety First

All non-swimmers, regardless of age, must wear armbands or a life jacket while in the swimming pool.

Before Entering the Pool

  • Adults should ensure children use the toilet before entering.
  • Toddlers must wear suitable swimming nappies.
  • Guests must be fully clothed when entering and leaving the pool complex.

Electronics and Photography

  • No electronic devices are allowed in the pool complex.
  • Photography and filming are strictly prohibited.
  • Please leave cameras and mobile phones with cameras outside the pool area.

Hot Tub Usage Guidelines

Important: Hot tubs must not be used after 10:00pm or before 10:30am. Hot tubs are not considered suitable for children under the age of 12.

Health Advice

  • During pregnancy, contact your doctor for advice before entering the hot tub.
  • Do not use the hot tub if you have skin, ear or other bodily infections, open sores or wounds.
  • Anyone with heart disease, diabetes, high or low blood pressure, or another serious illness should consult their doctor first.
  • If an allergic reaction occurs, leave the hot tub and rinse off in the shower. If it continues, contact Reception, a doctor or A&E.

Time and Temperature

  • Limit each hot-tub session to a maximum of 15 minutes.
  • Hot-tub water may reach 39–40°C. Extended use can cause illness.
  • Avoid using the hot tub immediately after a heavy meal or exercise.
  • Take care when entering and leaving, as heat can make you feel unsteady.

Alcohol, Drugs and Medication

  • Never use the hot tub while using, or after using, narcotics or drugs that may cause drowsiness or affect blood pressure.
  • Hot water increases the effects of alcohol and may cause sleepiness, dizziness or unconsciousness.

Supervision and Water Safety

  • Never use the hot tub alone.
  • Never allow children to use the hot tub unsupervised.
  • Do not immerse your head beneath the hot-tub water.
  • Do not allow children to put hot-tub water in their mouths.
  • When the hot tub is not in use, ensure the cover is secure.

Hygiene

  • Shower with soap and water before and after using the hot tub.
  • Remove lotions, deodorants and creams before entering, as these can reduce the effectiveness of the water sanitiser.
  • No pets are permitted in or around the hot-tub enclosure.
  • Keep personal belongings off the hot-tub cover.

Glass and Electrical Safety

  • Never use glass in or near the hot tub.
  • Do not use electrical appliances in or near the hot tub.
  • Take care on wet decking and steps, as these may be slippery.
  • Report any fault or damage to Reception as soon as possible.

Electrical Isolator

Each hot tub has a red electrical isolator switch. This should only be switched off in an emergency.

At all other times, please leave the electrical supply switched on because it is required to maintain the water temperature and water quality.

Water-Quality Checks

Hot-tub water quality is checked regularly, usually between 8:00am and 10:30am and again during the afternoon or early evening.

Our team may need to access the hot tub through your accommodation. We will make a reasonable effort to request access by knocking first. If there is no response, our team may enter to complete the required safety check.

Preparing Your Hot Tub

Hot tubs are drained, cleaned, disinfected and refilled with fresh water for every changeover. The fresh water must then be reheated, so your hot tub may not have reached its full temperature on your first evening.

If a hot tub must be drained, cleaned, disinfected and refilled because of guest misuse, a £50 charge will apply.

If the hot tub is not working correctly or you notice a water-quality issue, including unusual colour, please contact Reception immediately.

A Note for Parents and Hot-Tub Users

You are responsible for enforcing the safety rules within your lodge’s hot tub.

The life and health of you, your family and your friends are important. Please practise safe use and supervise the hot tub at all times.
